So Freya, where are you from?
I grew up in and around Cambridge but moved to London after university.
Describe your role in three words
Fast-paced. Always being on and being busy!
Rewarding.
Sociable. Being in such a social industry, as tiring as it can get, is amazing. I am constantly out meeting people and exploring London’s incredible sights, from small townhouses converted into office space in Fitzrovia, to stunning skyscrapers with views in the City (which is definitely one of the best parts of the job!)
An office needs…
Dogs… One of the best parts of working at Kontor (besides the Darts board…) is that we have a dog-friendly office. We sometimes have three dogs in the office at once, which definitely makes the days go quicker!
Favourite office space?
Wow, that’s such a hard question, especially in an industry like ours, where the variety of products is so broad and can be so specific to what the client needs. BUT…Chancery House has definitely got to be up there. The focus on wellbeing and amenities is amazing. It really depicts that work and wellness balance, offering a great collaborative space for clients.
Best thing about your role?
I’d have to say being involved in such a great team, without giving the guys too much of an ego boost… Being in the leasing team and having so much knowledge to learn and develop from is definitely one of the highlights.
As a company as a whole, Kontor allows me to work with so many like-minded people in such a close-knit team where everyone is there to help and support each other, with some great socials too!
Top tip for any company considering a move?
Without being biased, and say to get in touch with us…! I think really making sure you understand your options and what's out there in the market, which I know can be very overwhelming and confusing to tenants in such a fastly developing industry. Having a tenant advisor that you trust and will do all the hard yards for you, making sure you find the right fit for your office and company, is crucial.
And finally, talk us through your weekend plans.
My weekend plans tend to be pretty low-key. With such a busy and social work life during the week I like to have some down time at the weekends by going to the gym, catching up with friends, going for walks particularly in the summer (although trying to not end up at the pub can be difficult!!) and exploring different places in London.
Although a lot of my time at the weekends can get a bit more exciting, I spend time with my family going to watch my brother play rugby. England games have given us some great trips away to Dublin… Edinburgh… and even Rome!
