So Luke, where are you from? I’m originally from the countryside but have been in the big smoke for the best part of 10 years now.
Describe your role in three words. Understanding the market.
The flex and conventional markets are constantly shifting and changing for a variety of reasons which can range from anything like fluctuations in the economy, right the way through to an unprecedented global pandemic such as the Covid-19 outbreak. With this in mind, understanding what is happening within the markets and what is causing change, allows me to advise both landlords and clients in such a way that ensures the best possible results and outcomes for all parties involved.
An office needs… Natural light, a constant supply of good coffee, and somewhere good to get lunch.
A combination of these three things creates the ideal working environment meaning that all staff are happy, productivity is optimal, and everyone actually wants to come into the office regularly regardless of the WFH culture which is now very much the norm - Ideal!
Favourite office space? Montacute Yards would be one of my favourite buildings in London. Aside from being located in Shoreditch which is arguably one of the best areas in London, this building was purpose-built meaning each office benefits from a huge amount of natural light, stunning views, multiple roof terraces, excellent amenity space, and a state-of-the-art gym.
Best thing about your role? The best thing about my role is a combination of two things; constantly meeting new people (both within industry and externally), and getting to visit some of the best buildings and schemes that London has to offer.
Top tip for any company considering a move? Determine why it is that you’re moving, what works within your current space, and of course what doesn’t work. Once this has been established, reach out to brokers and agents as early as possible and communicate these points clearly. After that, sit back, relax, and enjoy watching them do all of the hard work for you- it really is that simple!
