So Paul, where are you from? I was born and raised in North London, though I’ve taken a few exciting detours along the way. I lived in Canada and Japan for a while, with Japan being particularly special since it’s where I met my wife. But London is still home.
Describe your role in three words. Selling progressive workspace. I collaborate across all areas of the business, working closely with as many teams and clients as I can. It’s a great way to stay connected and make a real impact.
An office needs… A motivated workforce! It’s also essential to have quiet spaces, a chillout zone with comfy seating where people can recharge and spark creative thinking. Before joining Kontor, our office didn’t have music, and I thought it would be too distracting. Now I love it. Music helps me block out the noise and really focus—it’s become my secret weapon for concentration.
Best thing about your role? Honestly, it’s the people. I love being part of such a motivated, ambitious, and close-knit team. It’s one of those places that makes you excited to show up every morning.
Top tip for any company considering a move? Make sure your lease aligns with both your current business goals and your future plans. Flexibility is key!
Also, don’t underestimate the power of a workspace upgrade. We hear it time and time again from clients: an inspiring environment makes a massive difference to employee engagement and even office attendance.
And finally, talk us through your weekend plans. With my kids being older and pretty self-sufficient now, my weekends are more relaxed. One of my sons is a big football fan, so we catch Spurs games together. My other son is an amazing jazz musician, so you’ll often find us at gigs.
Apart from that? Probably a bit of gardening, some long walks with my wife, and catching up on a good book.
