So Sophie, where are you from? I’m a true South East Londoner. Although I’ve moved around the surrounding area a few times, I’m currently based there with no plans to move anytime soon.
Describe your role in three words Coffee, Calls, Closings.
Specialising in business development, my job is to facilitate growth and support new clients. You need to know everything about the office real estate market and be excellent at relationship-building, so it’s a good thing I’m a people person.
An office needs… Great snacks and a playlist to match.
Music is essential for me, so having a chill soundtrack playing in the background helps me stay focused while I work. I also love hearing the natural buzz of the office around me.
When it comes to workspace aesthetics, I prefer a sophisticated, luxurious atmosphere. I’m particularly drawn to the refined ambiance of boutique hotels and have a strong appreciation for various textures and soft styles, which is also evident in my own home.
Favourite office space? Borough Yards in London's South Bank is an outstanding, modern office space.
It used to be a Victorian biscuit factory, and they’ve managed to keep that mix of old and new design, making the place unique and exciting.
There are seven floors with private offices, meeting rooms, breakout areas, a fitness studio, and a gorgeous roof terrace with amazing views of the city. Not to mention the surrounding shops, restaurants, and bars of Borough Market.
Another favourite is WeWork’s 10 York Road down by the Southbank. It overlooks the Thames, has excellent transport links, and even though the building is massive, it still maintains a unique, relaxed atmosphere.
Best thing about your role? Meeting new people and getting involved in various areas of the company makes my role incredibly exciting. It’s even more rewarding to see our clients achieve their desired outcomes with a building. We work with such a diverse range of brands and individuals, making this job endlessly interesting.
Plus, you never know who you'll bump into while out and about. My profession always provides the best stories to tell!
